Embera’s team is made up of a collection of recognized industry experts with diverse backgrounds, skills and qualifications. The team brings decades of experience from different regions, industries and  practices, which include investment banking, investor relations, ESG & Sustainability, M&A and activist advisory, data and investor ownership, legal, financial communications, journalism and academia.

Our team members are focused on delivering pragmatic solutions, customized to our client’s problem statement, and building the right project team and infrastructure around the unique requirements of our customers. We are equipped to take on regular and complex mandates, with unrivalled in-house, cross-team experience in multiple disciplines and areas. We are partner-led, independently run and operate discreetly with the interest and objectives of our clients being our priority.

Peter joins Embera Partners as Partner and Head of Sales and Relationships, bringing over 20 years of experience in financial services, investor relations sales and depository receipts into the organisation. Peter has been involved in supporting investor relations and the c-suite for over 20 years.

Andreas Posavac, MBA, BA (CESGA, CSE)

Managing Partner and Founding Member

Andreas is the founding member and managing partner of Embera Partners. He has +20 years’ experience in financial advisory with a key focus on M&A, Corporate Governance and ESG. He previously held leadership positions at S&P Global, IHS Markit, Ipreo and CapitalBridge.

Andreas is a recognized speaker and expert in data-driven investor advisory in standard investor relations context, complex situations around public tender offers, restructurings, shareholder activist campaigns as well as corporate governance and ESG best-practices. He holds a degree from University of Vienna and University of Washington is a certified supervisory board expert as well as ESG analyst. He holds several advisory board mandates and is also active as investor, coach and mediator.

Michael Oplustil

Senior Consultant, Corporate Finance & Investor Relations

Michael joined Embera Partners as a Senior Consultant with a focus on corporate finance and investor relations. Michael has +20 years’ experience in capital markets, including functions in investment banking, corporate finance and investor relations at companies as Deutsche Bank, Erste Bank or Uniqa.

Prior to joining Embera Partners, Michael headed investor relations at UNIQA. He built the investor relations department, was responsible for capital markets communication and rating agencies and led UNIQA’s Re-IPO in 2013.

After studying economics and business administration at the Vienna University of Economics and Business Administration he started his career at Deutsche Bank with positions in controlling and in the global corporate banking division. After leaving Deutsche Bank he became the personal assistant to the CEO of Mondi Packing, Peter Oswald before joining the investor relations department at ERSTE Bank.

Alexander Kalinin

Commercial Director, CEEMEA Region

Alexander Kalinin is a commercial director, focused on intensifying our relationships in the CEEMEA region. He is a seasoned professional with a comprehensive background in financial services, with a focus on investor relations, sales, client relations, marketing and communications as well as sustainability. Alexander boasts extensive experience in fostering stakeholder engagement and growing clients across Emerging Markets.

As the Head of Emerging Markets Issuer Solutions Sales at S&P Global, Alexander led origination and business development efforts in regions such as the Middle East, Africa, Central Asia, and Eastern Europe. His tenure at Deutsche Bank saw him spearheading strategic sales and client coverage across EMEA and APAC, with a specific emphasis on the CIS. Notable achievements include organizing innovative investor conferences and client events, as well as developing integrated investor relations solutions for global corporations and developing the Trust and Agency Services for their CIS clients. Alex gained further experience at Hudson Sandler and VTB Capital, in the area of finance, communications and marketing.

Armed with an MBA from Warwick Business School and a background in linguistics and intercultural communication, Alexander brings a unique blend of strategic insight and cultural sensitivity to every project he is part of.

Dr. Vjara Ilieva-Stricker

Office, HR & Finance

Vjara supports Embera Partners in her position as an on office manager with HR and finance responsibilities. She joined part time after +20 years in the healthcare industry. Prior to that Vjara started her career as a consultant at McKinsey and brings experience from the healthcare, events, food and public sector.

Mark Wilson

Consultant, Market Research & Perception

Mark joined Embera Partnes as consultant, focused capital markets research, market perception and investor engagement lead. Mark is specialized in engaging with buy-side institutions, sell-side analysts and the wider capital markets ecosystem, independently assessing market sentiment and researching risks and opportunities for our clients. 

Prior to joining Embera Partners, Mark worked for BNY Mellon in London for 33 years in a variety of roles principally in the Depositary Receipt and Corporate Trust areas. Mark was a Managing Director responsible for the Bank’s European Depositary Receipt (equity) marketing activities and latterly responsible for BNYM’s UK Corporate Trust (debt processing) relationships). After leaving BNYM, Mark set up and ran the London office for a New York based investor relations firm, most recently working in his own consulting firm MJ&M Consult.

Mark earned an economics degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE)

Dr. Alexander Juschus

Senior Executive – Corporate Governance

Through a partnership with Governance & Values, Alexander focuses on corporate governance projects including investor engagement and stewardship use-cases. Alexander brings a wealth of experience in proxy voting and governance from StePs, IVOX Glass Lewis and ISS.

Dr. Michael Buchbauer

Senior Consultant, Investor Relations & Sustainability

Michael joined Embera Partners as a Senior Consultant with a focus on ESG and sustainability focused challenges linked to capital markets, after spending two decades at Andritz AG, where he had leading positionsin the finance department, investor relations and communications. Michael was instrumental building the company’s sustainability team.

At Embera Partners, Michael works with investor relations mandates as well as ESG and sustainability focused challenges, including reporting, EU taxonomy, ESRS/CSRD and the development of ESG strategies for companies. He brings a wealth of experience from his time at Andritz, a global industrials leader with a focus on power plants, equipment, automation solutions and services for hydropower stations, pulp and paper industry. Michael has a doctoral degree in finance from the University of Graz and is a certified sustainability and ESG Manager.

Matthias Wabl

Practice Lead Financial Communications & Research

Matthias leads Embera Partners’ financial communications practice, with a focus on communications, crisis- and reputational management, public affairs as well as stakeholder research, mapping and analysis. Matthias previously founded Theseus Advisers and brings +20 years of experience from Bloomberg.

After almost 20 years in financial and investigative journalism at Bloomberg in New York, Vienna, London and Zurich Matthias embarked on his consulting career., previously founding Theseus Advisers. His broad network among senior professionals and his deep understanding of capital markets, corporations and communications helps our clients get things done or avoid that unexpected hurdle.

Matthias is specialized in financial communications, crisis- and reputational management, public affairs and stakeholder research, mapping and analysis. Matthias holds masters degrees of the University of Paris and New York (Columbia), specialized in European law as well as International affairs.

George Carswell

Corporate Access & Investor Engagement

George is our lead advisor around the area of corporate access and investor engagement, working with our clients to ensure that they get access to new capital pools for their specific investment story. George works closely with our team using a data-driven approach to investor analytics and fundamental targeting, overlayed with +20 years of experience in corporate access at Barclays, Goldman Sachs and J.P. Morgan, where he held senior positions in their respective corporate access teams.

George has worked globally, with a focus on EMEA engagement, with clients across all regions, industries and market-capitalizations. At Embera, he will focus to help our large-cap clients with independent advice around more efficient and streamlined corporate access using the existing broker ecosystem, as well as independent or new intermediaries to execute meetings. For small and mid-cap firms, George will work with management and IR teams to identify the best-fitting investors bespoke to each client, taking into consideration investment story, momentum, fundamental investment KPI’s as well as the clients liquidity, float cap and previous corporate access with their historic ecosystem, to work on new ways to unlock value and access to new capital pools together with the clients.

George has a finance and capital markets background and spends his time between UK and Europe.

Dr. Markus Kaum

Senior Consultant, Capital Markets, Law, Governance

Markus Kaum is a practicing legal expert, joining Embera as consultant with a focus on capital markets, capital markets law and a specialty on corporate governance-related areas, from AGM’s, EGM’s and transactions. Markus has +30 years of first hand experience, joining from Munich RE, Siemens, Infineon. Markus is also president of the administrative board of Swiss-based Pure Holding, and member of the administrative board of Green Lee AG. He is a practicing attorney at law at Mariacher Legal in Germany

Markus brings +30 years of experience in capital markets, capital markets law and investor relations. He is an expert in capital markets law and corporate governance, having advised on several occasions around transaction, general meetings and contentious corporate governance situations, including contentious shareholder meetings or activism fights.

Markus was a member of the EU Expert Group on Corporate Governance and part of the experts group for German DAI and GdV.

Jason Engelberts

Senior Consultant, Research, Market Intelligence, M&A

Jason joined Embera Partners as a Senior Consultant with a focus on data, AI and Research, leading and developing Embera’s data-driven advisory approach across the different verticals. Jason brings a wealth of experience from S&P Global and IHSMarkit, where he was a member of the M&A and Research team.

Jason supports our client with customized advisory solutions that are fact-based and data driven, customizing Embera’s offering to the respective client needs and use-case. He worked on numerous high-profile M&A and Governance transactions, as well as restructuring deals or advisory mandates involving management and supervisory board access. Jason is a CFA charterholder and has a degree in finance with a focus on financial analysis, investments and securities.

Cary Krosinsky

Advisory Council Member & Consultant, Sustainable Finance

Cary is a global educator, author and advisor on the intersection of climate change and sustainable finance, having taught at Brown, Harvard, HKUST, NYU and Yale universities. He joined Embera Partners as a Senior Consultant and member of the advisory council, focused on ESG and sustainable finance.

Cary was a member of the NY State Common Decarbonization Advisory Panel which informed the fund’s June 2019 Climate Action Plan, now actively implementing his suggestion of minimum standards while increasing their sustainable investments recently to $40B. Cary regularly convenes and advises large global asset owners on related topics, created the clean energy theme for GIIN, worked with major index providers on a new ESG framework for APAC.

He is also author of numerous books and papers on the intersection of finance, capital and the low carbon transition, and independently advises a variety of investors, government agencies and other organizations on climate and impact, as well as organizations such as Robeco, Carbon Tracker, United Nations and the US Department of Energy, to name a few.

Richard O’Connor, CFA

Advisory Council Member & Consultant, Investor Relations, Governance, Activism

Richard O’Connor helped pioneer investor relations in the UK and is one of the most experienced individuals in the field, previously overseeing HSBC’s listings in London, Hong Kong and the US, chairing the activist steering group where he and colleagues successfully dealt with activist campaigns in 2020, 2021 and 2023 as well as helping set up their ESG and Governance programmes during his time there. Richard’s insights will be an invaluable guidance to Embera Partners as well as our clients when it comes to setting up strategic programmes and dealing with complex issues.

Brendan Fitzpatrick, CFA

Advisory Council Member & Consultant, Investor Analytics, Targetiing & Access

Brendan is a member of Embera’s advisory council, supporting the development of our investor analytics and capital markets intelligence solutions. Additionally, Brendan also serves as a senior consultant for our strategic clients on capital access and fundamental targeting problem statements, with a goal to strategically develop the ownership base of small and mid-cap clients with an independent, data-driven and fact-based approach.

Brendan is an industry veteran on investor analytics and targeting, being a global renown expert working for S&P Global, ISS, Thomson Financial, PwC or JM Lafferty. Brendan recently founded Fitzcores, a partner-firm collaborating with Embera Partners and previously built BuySIde IQ, both focusing on fundamental analytics, targeting and investor profiling.
